Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 27, 2025
Welcome to Clarity Health! This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy” or “Policy”) describes how Clarity Health (“Clarity Health,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information about you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) when you use the Clarity Health application and services (“Clarity Health app” or “Service”) to access and better understand your personal health records. Before using the Clarity Health app, please read the following carefully to understand how we handle your personal data.
Overview of Clarity Health
Clarity Health is designed to help you retrieve, understand, and engage with your personal health records (“Health Data”) from your healthcare providers' electronic health record (“EHR”) systems (“Providers”).
You will log in to your Providers' patient portal accounts using your existing username and password credentials. When you enter your login information, a secure window connects you directly to your Provider's EHR system. Your credentials are never shared with or accessible to Clarity Health.
Your Health Data is securely downloaded over an encrypted connection directly to your device and is stored locally within the Clarity Health app. No Health Data permanently passes through Clarity Health servers.
At the heart of Clarity Health is CLaiR, your private, personal AI agent who helps you make sense of your medical records.
When you interact with CLaiR, your Health Data may be securely and temporarily sent to our servers to provide you with real-time explanations and insights.
We do not permanently store your Health Data.
After your interaction with CLaiR is complete, your data is deleted from our servers immediately.
We never use your Health Data for training our AI models, and we never share your data with third parties without your clear and explicit consent.
Our mission is to empower you with clarity, confidence, and complete control over your health information — always in a way that's helpful, respectful, and easy to understand.
What We Collect
Information Stored in the Clarity Health app
Your Health Data is stored locally on your device, encrypted, and remains completely under your control.
Profile information, such as your name, date of birth, and any personalized health insights displayed in the app, is also stored only on your device and is never shared with Clarity Health servers unless needed for a CLaiR interaction — and even then, only temporarily.
You may optionally choose to allow Clarity Health to collect anonymized information (“Page Views”) about how you navigate general sections of the app. This does not include any personal or identifiable health information.
Examples of Page Views:
- Home Screen
- Medical Summary
- Allergy Intolerances
- Conditions
- Surgeries and Procedures
- Medications
- Lab Results
- Radiology Results
- Progress Notes and other Clinical Documents
- App Settings
(This data is collected anonymously and does not reveal your identity. You may opt-in or opt-out at any time.)
Information We Collect Automatically
When you download and use the Clarity Health app, anonymized technical information (“Device Analytics”) may be collected, such as:
- Operating system version
- Country and language settings
- Device type and specifications
- Application crash data
A random, non-identifiable device identifier may also be generated to associate app usage events without identifying you personally.
You have the option to opt out of sharing crash reports within the app Settings.
How We Use Information
- To deliver the service: We use your Health Data solely to enable the Clarity Health app and CLaiR to function for you.
- To assist you during interactions with CLaiR: Health Data is temporarily processed on secure servers to provide personalized answers — and is deleted immediately after your session ends.
- To improve the app experience: We use anonymized Page Views and Device Analytics to improve performance and troubleshoot issues.
How We Share Information
We do not sell, share, or use your Health Data for training or third-party services without your expressed consent.
During interactions with CLaiR, your Health Data is temporarily and securely processed on our servers to support real-time explanations. Once the interaction is complete, your data is deleted from our servers.
We may share anonymized and aggregated usage statistics (which cannot identify you) with trusted partners solely to help us improve the Clarity Health app.
Security
We take strong measures to protect your Health Data and Device Analytics against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
Your Health Data remains encrypted at rest on your device, and securely encrypted in transit during any temporary interactions with our servers.
Retention and Deletion
You can delete your Health Data at any time by using the “Clear Data“ option in the Clarity Health app Settings.
When you delete your Health Data, it is permanently removed from your device and cannot be recovered.
Data temporarily processed during interactions with CLaiR is automatically deleted after your session ends.
GDPR Compliance and Your Right to Be Forgotten
If you are located in the European Union or are otherwise covered by the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR“), you have specific rights regarding your personal data.
At Clarity Health, we fully support and respect these rights, including your right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information.
You have the right to request that all of your Health Data and any related information be deleted and to be “forgotten“ by CLaiR.
While it will make CLaiR a little sad to see you go, we understand that this is your information and your choice — and we will honor it fully and promptly.
To exercise any of your GDPR rights, including data deletion, simply contact us through the support email address listed below. We will respond quickly and handle your request with care and respect.
Children
The Clarity Health app is not intended for children under the age of 13 in the United States, or the minimum age required by your country's laws.
If we become aware that we have unintentionally collected data from a child, we will promptly delete it.
Your Choices
- Your Health Data stays on your device under your full control.
- You can opt out of crash reporting and anonymized analytics collection any time through the app Settings.
- CLaiR will only process the Health Data you choose to interact with during a session, and never retains it after your interaction.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated“ date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed.
